DEAR DIARY ;

A happy journey begins like that....

This is by far, one of the most interesting competition-(s) I have come across, and one of the most considerate one. If everyone is considerate then traveling on public transport would be so much more pleasant.

There are 24 entries (from when I entered) and these are the three I am so tickled by in their unique ways.

Man of thousand faces, Arthur Ong;
Tips for a happy journey, Felicia Ang;
Animated video for a happy journey, Art Lim.

I wanted to embed the video up here for all your convenience but blogger don't seem to be very helpful. So URL instead! Click on it and see for yourself.(:

So interesting to see what other people happy journeys are like!!!!

Sometimes our little act of considerations in our daily lives really make a difference to how a person would feel. No reservations, just considerations...and we would be able to go really far.

Of course, basic courtesy is appreciated.
If someone gives his seat to you, remember to say thank you. There's power in courtesy. He could have made your day by giving you the seat, and you could make his day by saying thank you.

Looking forward to a lot more of happy journeys.

DEAR DIARY ;

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELOVED COUSIN!

It's your 16th.

You have been such a sweet little thing in my life.

It's a pleasure to be able to leave my footstep in your life and to watch you grow as you experience part and parcels of growing up. I can never recall a time where we did not get along but I can always remember the smiles you brought to my face and left me grinning from ear to ear.

Sometimes, the little things that you done, warm my heart and make my day. At others, they bring me so much joy that I just want to dance and jump around.

You have been a precious gift in all our lives.

All the best for your O levels.
Remember, no pressure...just do your best, and trust God for the results.

Whatever it is, we still love you.

Once again, Happy birthday! And have a blessed one!

DEAR DIARY ;

Little Tenor went for his first grooming session last sunday and had girls going gaga over him. I had the previlege to stand inside the grooming room to watch him get his hair trimmed and having his very pampered bath.

After the very professional grooming session at Pet Safari, Tenor transform to be a super adorable head turner. (: He have people who stop to see him, request to take photo with him and even give him a pat on his big head. Kawaii!

Now that he has his hair trimmed, we can all see his eyes clearly already.
Yay, and he smells super nice as well.

Can't wait to show all of you his time at the grooming salon. Soon,I promise! :)
Meanwhile, have a good week ahead!

DEAR DIARY ;

Although I really love to watch National Day Parades, I decided to attend a church camp instead.

We had a very comfortable camp site - YWCA and it was really near where the national celebrations are held. In fact, I can hear the fireworks going off quite loudly and was supressing the urge to want to go out and just have a peek.

At 8.22PM exactly, I took the pledge moment with Felicia in whispers because we were in the midst of a lesson. And instead of saying the pledge together, we end of each other sentences.

But still, whether or not I watch the celebrations, I love Singapore as much! (:
I am 100% patriotic.

There was around 30plus of us, and through this camp, I got to know Ms Tong better. I have always seen her in Sunday school and she always quietly sits alone and seldom mingle around. So I am quite happy that I bonded with her quite a bit and I hope she would open more in time to come.

Fyi, Ms Tong is my pastor's daughter. (:

Of course, there are a group of people that I always adore and love to be in the midst of. And they are none other than my cousins as well as church mates.

I always wonder why girls bond well together. Do you know why?

From left
: Ms Tong ( in pink), Pris, Me, Joy, Felicia( with scarf) and Linda Chua.

We had five sessions of bible lessons and time to share as a group as well as prayer and worship time. Our group is considered the 'young people' group except for our leader. Haha! And I enjoyed how much I can relate to ' the pursuit of happyness' after watching it for so many times.
I love the choir singing "Lord, please don't move the mountains...Instead, give me strength"

Looks like they are sleeping hor, but they are actually praying.
This is our speaker for the two days, the national director of Singapore Youth For Christ ( YFC ). I enjoy the simplicity of his sessions, easily understood and relatable.
Although I still don't really know what Singapore Youth For Christ does even though there is one group of them in my school, I believe that all christian organisation work towards bringing the good news to the people.
While he teaches, he would also write on the flip charts and use notes that reminds me of secondary school. It makes me feel as though I am back into the secondary school era! And for a moment, I was like a good kid sitting up, listening attentively and taking down notes as and when.

Plus I am not alone. Look at all the aunties and uncles in church who are taking down notes as well. This conference room is so comfortable that I would feel like falling asleep.

After the two days of camp, I feel really refreshed and encouraged.
& more assured and determine to use the Observe, Intepret, Apply (OIA) concept into my quiet time although it is rather time consuming. Hope all the rest feel the same too! :)
I really got a lot more insights from the sharing sessions.

DEAR DIARY ;

My uncle's baptism was a very significant affair not just for me, but for the family as well.

Even though I prayed for his salvation, I didn't really believe that it was possible. But on 16Aug2009, God showed me personally how he could make all things beautiful in his time. And it made me see how little my faith is, in the God who can allow metamorphosis in life.

It wasn't a very glamourous event, in fact it was just an simple affair that is very heartwarming at Goldenview Hotel, Batam.

When my uncle went into the pool, I saw from the corner of my eyes, tears of joy and comfort rolling down from the cheeks of my mother and my auntie.

And listening to the way my aunt shared before we left, made my heart leap for joy knowing that God has not just work wonders in this family but would also use this family to reach and touch the lives of others.

DEAR DIARY ;

Little Tenor is all grown up now.

He is more active, and really loves getting close to us. But one bad point of our dear puppy growing up now is the fact that his bites hurt. Anyone knows how to stop puppy from biting?

I'm still toilet training him in process and he does goes to the toilet once in a while to pee. So I see that as quite an improvement as compared. I still don't know if paper training him or toilet training him is better so I am stil reading up...internet has given me so much different opinions and facts that I am trying to digest.

Once in a while, Tenor would get on our nerves by biting our shoes and Dad would give me a slight smack on his butt to let him know its wrong, so he is the most fear person of Tenor now. Sometimes he does even more drastic stuffs like scratching our legs till it bleeds and whenever we want to scold him for that, he looks up with such innocent eyes that our hearts melts.

I'm very happy that we got a puppy especially now during my last year because playing with Tenor has been a good way to destress from all the project works.

Tenor really loves posing for the cameras and he sits really still when I snap pictures of him. He would get distracted ocassionally by either the floor mat or sounds of doors creaking but he really make a good dog/puppy model if he is required.
These are pictures of Tenor as of August. More soon!

DEAR DIARY ;

From I-don't-know-which-year, it has been the church sunday school's tradition to bring the kids out for an exciting outing to somewhere fun. Although I wouldn't exactly say that the 8/8/09 outing this year was exactly ahem, erm, fun.

Here's the little kids and adult, in the also quite tradition - red shirts happily walking out of the bus. I have no idea who started the trend of wearing red on National day but I have been seeing seas of red of that day itself which is rather ironic cos national day falls on 9/8/09.

But oh well, the kids haven't been to Marina Barrage before and they sure are excited. I eavesdrop a little and heard this like :
" Can see flyer one you know! "
" Later we take picture together okay "
" Marina barrage is bridge ah? "
" I come before, my PAP teacher got bring me..."

Before everything else begins, we got into groups, with enthu youths as leaders whom apparently erm, left their group behind later on and went exploring around because it was erm, too boring. So responsible of them.

This was the view that I met with at the solar garden. I love the view and I see lots of families there either making their kites of fixing some games...which I suppose they are preparing to play with later on as a family bonding day.
I particularly like the kite above the flyer. Reminds me of primary school where I joined this make a kite contest and won something (that I don't remember what) but I am so certain its something like this, or rather same colors.

This one was taken when I climbed half the ramp. You need to walk quite a bit for nicer views of the flyer there. And I didn't really enjoyed standing under the hot sorching sun and allowing my skin to burn all because I wanted to have a good look at the flyer. But oh well. I did, eventually.

This group picture is my favorite of all. :) The brotherhood kind of feel just oozes out of them. Wherever one of them is, the rest are also. And you know, I just need to grab two of them to take a picture and all of them would come running. Titus was quite sporting as well, usually he would shy away from the camera.
Glad they share such a wonderful friendship or should I say "brotherhood".

I took this on my second trip in the gallery. I thought the boys were looking at something interesting or amusing and I got all curious until I realize they were making use of the connection to play restaurant city on facebook. Tsk. What have social media and internet done to our society, people just cannot stop being connected/online. Zz. Soon, we'll all be slaves to technology, just a matter of time for that. ;p

After the long walk in the gallery, we exit the place to find ourselves at the middle of a cafe. Quite cool and nice ambience cafe, and the things there are expectedly priced....pricey. :) But our dear kids had a good time looking and talking under the comfort of the airconditioning there and looking out at the view of the bridge and nice sea and all.
They even exclaimed that they have seen some water creature in the sea. Which I doubt cos' I saw nothing after standing there for 20 minutes. I think I must have been cheated

Some pictures of me in the gallery and with my favorite number 7. I totally adore 7. that's like my register number for 4 years in primary and secondary school okay , don't play play. And I love the shot on the bench. Nice or what! The background wallpaper is super chio to the max.
the 7 is the 7th point of the Marina barrage stuffs but I didn't bother reading. I was more interested in what the kids were doing at some points of time cos' it was really amusing.

& of course, there were games. One of it was the "smash each other balloons" and the other was some "hulahup " thingy. The first one was rather interesting but the second one receive quite a large number of whines and grumbles and complains.
"why like that?"
" This game so lame, so boring"

Another of my favoritest group:) The most sporting group ever to stop and pose of a picture in the quickest time ever and are such a joy to be with. Although at times, you see kids disappearing from their groups to go join their clique but they were still relatively "guai" and discipline that we don't really have to yell.

Mark the day off with group photos again.

"And yes, there are things I aren't happy about, but I have decided that whatever you say doesn't count and I don't care. I am respecting you because you are a authority figure not because of anything else. "
Anyway, to end this off interestingly, guess who said this:
" She wanna call my dad, I press the number for her lah "

DEAR DIARY ;

Happy 20th birthday,
my "cousin-in-law" (in actual fact: childhood friend)

Now that we no longer chiong together for exams, make fun of each other or even talk much (except for church related stuffs, I realize) doesn't mean that I will forget your special day! :) Especially since it's a public holiday.

Hope that as you grow older, you grow wiser! Heh! And that you would be able to make wise decision along the way especially since we'll be entering into another stage of life after graduation.

Although we aren't as ra-ra as we were before and the whole group of us has never had time to meet up as a group (ok, we had once) to catch up but you & the rest of them are always in my mind, heart and memories okay! :) *hint to organise meetup*

I know we'll won't go back to the past, we all have our own circle of friends now but, you all will always be the most important group of people to me (we have all seen each other true colors) Haha!:) Know that I am there if I am needed.

Shine in God's kingdom.
God bless!

DEAR DIARY ;

We brought Tenor to the vet a week ago for his first jab. It was his first trip out and he was trembling really hard while we were on our way. Thank God it's only for a short trip or I would have no idea how to calm him down. We went to Mount Pleasant at Bedok South since it's one of the few clinics we know of and is nearby.

So..being his first visit, we got to register him and take his weight and everything. He's 1.5KG only. At least, we can stop guessing how heavy he is at home already.

While waiting for the Vet to be ready, we took turns to take photos with dear Tenor to calm him down. He was so scare stiff that he doesn't even wanna move, he just lied still and whine. Dad says its normal and he assume its becuase there's a Vet aura that the dog can sense.

Not scientifically proven though and both Mom and I refused to believe in his warp theory of vet smells and clinic aura. Sounds logical but fake at the same time.

Finally after quite a while of waiting, its Tenor's turn to get his jab. Like our previous two dogs, Toto and Coco, the vet did a check on Tenor's eyes, legs, fur and everything else that has to be check. And she mention " He's so cute" five times before telling us everything is okay and he is a healthy little puppy.

She told us to give him 3 meals a day because like babies, puppies are easily hungry too and have to be fed more. Besides, he's a little too skinny. So we have started to feed him at 7am, 3pm and 10pm now. Hopefully he gets fat.

After all the checks, the vet proceeded to ask us some questions about Tenor before moving on to the jab. Check out the picture below, I circled the injection that was for Tenor and it just SO freak Tenor out! Oh and I was so amused by the healthcard of Tenor (on the right). And he has an appointment a month later for his second jab and another one again for his third.

And tadah! This is the jab pushing the injection in, she warn us that Tenor may run away or bark very loudly so we were quite prepared. Dad was in charge of holding Tenor's head because we were afraid that he would bite. But apparently, Tenor was very brave. He just whine once and that's it.

The vet said that he may feel tired and all but oh no, he was active and everything when he went home. He even wanted to play catching with us. Cool little Tenor! :)

So proud of him on his first visit.

And for now, he doesn't sleep in the cage any more. He has his own mini bed beside Mom and would occasionally try to jump on the bed. He can't go on the bed as of now yet because he's still tiny, but we are guessing that in another two weeks time he would be able to.

Hopefully by then he would be paper trained already. Or can go to the toilet to pee by himself. :)

<33 Tenor!
